SmartScale360 partners with growing U.S. businesses by providing exceptional remote professionals. We’re looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team and support U.S.-based franchise operations through accurate bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Location: Remote

Salary: PHP 50,000/month + Performance Bonuses

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping records in QuickBooks Online (QBO) for multiple U.S.-based franchise businesses
  • Process and reconcile bank deposits, bank feed transactions, and monthly bank, loan, and credit card reconciliations
  • Record payroll journal entries from third-party payroll providers
  • Categorize expenses and maintain organized, accurate financial records
  • Prepare recurring journal entries for commissions, Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), royalties, advertising expenses, office expenses, depreciation, interest, and other month-end adjustments
  • Support the month-end close process and ensure financial data is accurate and complete
  • Develop and maintain monthly and annual Profit & Loss (P&L) reports, including job-level profitability tracking
  • Prepare and deliver timely and accurate monthly financial reports
  • Communicate with franchise owners regarding bookkeeping, financial records, and account-related inquiries
  • Participate in and/or lead compliance documentation, including insurance audits and tax-related requirements
  • Support the company accountant by preparing documentation for annual federal and state tax filings
  • Order and track job materials and supplies with vendors, including monitoring delivery schedules when needed
  • Perform general administrative and operational support tasks as business needs evolve
  • Assist with additional bookkeeping and cross-functional responsibilities as needed

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of bookkeeping experience supporting U.S. businesses (franchise accounting experience is a plus)
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO)
  • Experience with bank reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, and financial reporting
  • Working knowledge of Profit & Loss (P&L) reporting, general ledger management, and bookkeeping best practices
  • Familiarity with compliance documentation, audits, or tax preparation support
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple business entities while meeting deadlines in a remote work environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting franchise or multi-location businesses
  • Familiarity with ServiceMinder or similar field service management software
  • Experience working with multiple legal entities or business units
  • Exposure to insurance audits, tax documentation, or accounting compliance processes
