Digital Marketing Specialist

Smart Energy

Smart Energy | Remote Role

Please note prior to applying – This role is open only to candidates located in the Philippines, as it requires working within Australian Head Office hours.

Smart Energy has grown to become one of Australia’s leading home electrification and renewable energy retailers, providing quality solutions to Aussie homeowners across the country.

Our mission is to lead Australia to net zero emissions by offering a smooth, supported, and sustainable solution to rising energy costs – assisting Aussie homeowners in their transition to Smart Energy sources and a brighter future

Our values are the cornerstone of our identity, guiding everything we do and how we do it. When you become part of our team, you’ll be welcomed into a workplace that respects you as an individual and is committed to your growth. We’re focused on development, meaningful investment, and delivering service excellence.

At Smart Energy we believe in empowering our people, providing support, and fostering innovation.

The Role:

Write it. Build it. Test it. Make it perform better.

You write the copy. You design it. You build the page. You test it, read the numbers and make it better next week. That’s the job.

Smart Energy is looking for a hands-on Digital Marketing Specialist who can take an idea from blank page to live campaign without needing five different people to get it over the line.

You’ll work across email, content, web, CRO, SEO and AEO, with the freedom to test ideas, learn quickly and own the outcome.

If you’re currently the person quietly fixing landing pages, rewriting headlines and wondering why nobody is testing the CTA, you’ll probably like it here.

Who Is Smart Energy?

Smart Energy is one of Australia’s leading home electrification and renewable energy businesses, helping homeowners get more from their homes through smarter energy solutions.

Since launching in 2016, we’ve grown to more than 300 employees across Australia and are backed by the strength and stability of Rinnai Australia.

We’re continuing to grow our products, technology, digital experience and national presence, and we want our marketing to grow with us.

That’s where you come in.

Why Join Smart Energy?

  • Own your work from idea to execution
  • Test ideas and actually see the impact of what you create
  • Work across content, web, CRO, SEO, AEO, email and digital growth
  • Join a fast-growing Australian home electrification business
  • Be backed by the strength and stability of Rinnai Australia
  • Plenty of autonomy and room to shape the role as you grow
  • Genuine opportunities for career development and progression
  • Work remotely or hybrid from our Byron Bay Head Office
  • Collaborative, energetic team culture
  • Friday beers, team lunches and annual Bali incentive trips for high performers

Ready to Build, Test & Grow?

If you’re a marketer who likes doing more than just writing the brief, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Actually Do

Email and campaign delivery

  • Turn campaign and lifecycle briefs into written, designed, built and quality-checked emails
  • Create email content for automated customer journeys designed by the Marketing Manager
  • Build and maintain reusable email templates and content modules
  • Schedule campaigns and check links, tracking, segmentation, mobile layouts and approvals
  • Update automation content based on performance and customer behaviour

Website, landing pages and CRO

  • Build, edit and publish landing pages in our CMS, from concept through to live
  • Improve layouts, messaging and user journeys to lift conversion
  • Run A/B tests across headlines, layouts, CTAs, offers and pages
  • Analyse results and turn the numbers into actual changes, not just a slide
  • Find friction in the digital customer journey and fix it

Paid advertising and social copy

  • Write digital ad copy and design ads built to earn the click and the conversion, not just the impression
  • Adapt and resize creative across channels and placements
  • Support coordinated campaigns across email, web, landing pages and paid media

Customer proof and content repurposing

  • Turn reviews, installs, testimonials and case studies into reusable content for email, ads, landing pages and organic search
  • Work with Sales to surface common questions and objections, then turn them into better content and conversion journeys

SEO and AEO

  • Create and optimise content to improve organic search visibility
  • Build content with AI search and Answer Engine Optimisation in mind
  • Identify content opportunities based on customer intent, search behaviour and commercial value

Design and digital production

  • Design emails, landing page sections, static ads and simple campaign assets
  • Work confidently within established brand guidelines and templates
  • Produce polished work independently, and know when to call in specialist design support

Tracking and reporting

  • Use GA4, CRM, email and ad platform data to understand how your work is performing
  • Create and manage campaign links and UTMs
  • Check forms, links and conversion tracking work before campaigns launch
  • Maintain simple reporting across email, landing pages, content and CRO tests

Who This Role Suits

  • You’ve got a few years under your belt and a portfolio that proves you can ship
  • You’re comfortable opening Figma or Canva, and comfortable opening a CMS
  • You’ve built a landing page start to finish, watched the conversion rate move and immediately started thinking about what you’d split test next

You don’t want to spend your week writing briefs for other people.

You like being able to say “I made that.” And better: “it worked.”

Most importantly, you want more ownership than you’re getting right now. There’s plenty of it here.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years in digital marketing, content or growth marketing, agency or in-house
  • Strong copywriting, with examples across email, web, landing pages or digital ads
  • Working design skills in Figma, Canva or similar
  • Confidence in a CMS such as WordPress, Webflow, Shopify or similar
  • Ability to independently edit, build and publish digital content
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics and digital performance metrics
  • Experience running basic A/B tests, or the ability to pick it up fast
  • An understanding of SEO and genuine interest in AI search and AEO
  • Commercial curiosity and an interest in why people convert
  • A self-starter who spots the opportunity and takes action on it
  • Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications or similar, or equivalent practical experience
