The internet is full of two extremes. YouTubers screaming “₱100K/month working from home!” And Facebook groups full of people saying “walang perang VA, scam lang.” Neither is helpful — and neither is true.
So here’s what we actually see, from where we sit — training over 1,200 Filipino VAs, running our own outsourcing agency, and now placing certified graduates through SOVATalents.com.
Here’s the real picture for 2026.
The honest headline
Filipino VAs today earn anywhere from ₱15,000 to over ₱150,000 per month, depending on four things:
- Your specialty — a General VA and an SEO Specialist are in different tax brackets.
- Your experience level — the same skill pays 3–4x more with 2 years of proof.
- Your client type — US/AU/UK direct clients pay dramatically more than local or platform-mediated work.
- Your certification & portfolio — vetted talent commands vetted rates.
That range sounds huge because it is huge. Let’s break it down properly.

Understanding hourly rates: the $10/hour threshold
Most international clients think in hourly rates. The starting rate for vetted Filipino talent on SOVATalents is $10/hour. Here’s what that actually looks like:
- $5/hr ≈ ₱280/hr ≈ ₱44,800/month (full-time) — the low end of the platform market
- $10/hr ≈ ₱560/hr ≈ ₱89,600/month (full-time) — SOVATalents floor rate

What actually moves the number up
Four things predict whether a Filipino VA earns ₱25K or ₱75K:
1. Certification & verifiable training
A client hiring internationally is taking a risk. Anything that reduces that risk — a real course completion, a portfolio, a working certificate from a school they can look up — moves you into the top pricing tier immediately. 2. Direct clients, not platform clients
The same 40 hours of work pays $6/hr on generic platforms and $15/hr with a direct US client. Cutting out the middleman is the single biggest income lever in this industry.
3. Specialization
General VAs earn less than niched VAs — every time. “I do everything” is a lower-paid category than “I run Google Ads campaigns for real estate companies.” Pick a lane.
4. English fluency & communication
Being technically competent gets you the interview. Communicating clearly, on time, in the client’s timezone, in idiomatic English — that’s what gets you the offer, and the retainer, and the referral.
The path from ₱20K to ₱60K+ per month
Here’s the actual ladder we watch our students climb:
- Month 0–1 — Complete a SOVA bootcamp. Build a portfolio during training.
- Month 1–3 — Land your first client at ₱20–30K/month. Ideally through our internship-to-hire pipeline via MalachiSoft.
- Month 3–9 — Get 6+ months of receipts. Ask for a raise. Take on a second small client. You’re now at ₱35–45K.
- Month 9–18 — Pick a niche. Get listed on SOVATalents. Move up to $10–15/hour ($10/hr = ₱90K+/month full-time).
- Year 2+ — Full-time senior specialist at ₱60K–150K+, working from home in Cebu, Iligan, or wherever you want to live.
None of this is guaranteed. But we watch this exact path play out, batch after batch.
Local vs. international clients — a warning
If you plan to work only with local Filipino clients, your ceiling is much lower — often ₱15K to ₱25K/month for generalist work. That’s not because your skills are less valuable. It’s because local businesses often pay against local wage benchmarks.
If your goal is a serious career-changing income, go international from day one. It’s not harder. It’s often easier — the demand is bigger, and clients who pay $10/hr are often nicer to work with than clients who pay ₱5,000/month.
