Virtual Assistant Course for Beginners: 1-on-1 with Coach Kathy (12 Sessions)
About Course
BEGINNERS WELCOME · NO VA EXPERIENCE NEEDED · NOW ENROLLING
New to VA work? This virtual assistant course for beginners teaches you the skills, tools and client-finding steps to start working from home, with Coach Katherine Padilla, co-founder of SOVA.ph and Pipie.Co, guiding you personally.
A Beginner-Friendly Way to Become a Virtual Assistant
Not sure where to start? Most people who want to work from home have the same questions: What does a VA actually do? Which tools do I need? How do I find my first client? This course answers them in order, starting from the basics.
You don’t need VA experience to enroll. The curriculum is the one Coach Kathy uses in SOVA’s Iligan bootcamps, which was designed for beginners. Since you’re her only student in each session, you can stop and ask whenever something isn’t clear.
Our face-to-face batches are paused while SOVA’s training center in Iligan City is under construction, so this course is held online for now.

Each module builds on the one before it, so you go from understanding the job to being ready to look for clients.
Module 1: Foundations of Virtual Assistance + AI Awareness
Get the big picture first: where the VA industry is going, what clients actually pay for, and how AI is changing the role.
Module 2: Tools, Systems, and AI-Powered Productivity
Get comfortable with the tools VAs use, including ChatGPT, Claude, Notion, Google Workspace, Trello and Loom.
Module 3: High-Income VA Skills + AI Application
Practice skills clients hire for, such as email management, content creation, research, lead generation and light project management.

Starter Kit for New VAs
You won’t have to create everything from scratch when you begin:
- Ready-to-use contract and invoice templates
- A business plan template to map out your freelance career
- Checklists to help you manage your time and stay productive
- A certificate of completion to add to your resume and portfolio
- SOVA’s private online community, where you can get peer support
- Unlimited support as you look for your first clients
Why This Course Works for Beginners
- No question is too basic. It’s just you and your coach, so you can ask about anything you don’t understand.
- You practice with the actual tools. The training is hands-on, so you learn by doing the work rather than only watching.
- Hard topics get more time. If something takes longer to click, you can stay on it before moving ahead.
- You learn in the language you’re most comfortable with. Choose English, Tagalog or Bisaya.
- You finish with a plan. You’ll map out your niche, your services and your next steps.
Is This Beginner VA Course Right for You?
It’s a good fit if any of these sound like you:
- You’ve never worked as a VA, but you want to learn how
- You’re a student or a stay-at-home parent looking for work you can do from home
- You have a local job and want to prepare for a move to remote work
- You run a business or freelance and want to understand how VA work is done
