Job Overview

We are seeking a Bookkeeper to support Canadian condominium accounting operations. This role requires familiarity with bookkeeping practices in Canada, which differ slightly from standard accounting software procedures. Training will be provided to ensure alignment with the specific systems used.

The company also provides necessary tools such as Slack for communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately record daily financial transactions and complete the posting process.
  • Generate, send, and follow up on invoices.
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Maintain systematic records of financial documents and ensure all data is current.
  • Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll efficiently.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to prepare for audits and financial reviews.
  • Stay updated on financial policies, regulations, and legislation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
  • Strong mathematical and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and procedures.

Highly Regarded Skills & Experience

  • Experience in bookkeeping for international or Canadian clients.
  • Familiarity with multiple accounting software platforms.
  • Degree or certification in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Experience managing financial records for small to medium-sized businesses.
